Start with the screen size and frame details
The first thing we need is the exact frame size or the size you want made up. If you are not sure, send the outside dimensions, the opening size or the screen size you use for garment printing. This helps us match the frame to your press setup and avoid delays later on.
Also tell us whether you need a new aluminium frame, a restretch on an existing frame, or a full screen service. If the frame has dents, loose corners, old adhesive or signs of corrosion, mention that too. In Cape Town, especially near Maitland and the harbour side, moisture and salt can affect metal parts, so a quick note on condition helps us advise properly.
- Frame size in millimetres or centimetres
- New frame or restretch work
- Any damage, warping or corrosion
- How many frames you need
Tell us the mesh count and what you print on
Mesh choice has a big effect on price and performance. Let us know the mesh count, mesh type and what the screen will be used for. If you print light cotton tees, darker garments or need finer detail, that changes the mesh recommendation. If you are unsure, tell us the type of ink and the garment fabric and we can work from there.
We also need to know whether you want standard tension checks, adhesive application or mesh removal before a new stretch. That way we can quote on the full job instead of only part of it, which keeps things clear for your workshop planning.
- Mesh count or preferred mesh type
- Garment type and ink type
- Whether the screen is for fine detail or heavier print work
- Extra services needed, such as adhesive or mesh removal
Include quantities and whether it is a once-off or bulk order
Pricing is usually better when we know the total quantity. A single screen for a hobby setup is priced differently from a bulk order for a print shop in Johannesburg or Durban. If you need multiple frames in different sizes, list each size separately. If the order is repeated every month or tied to a seasonal run, mention that as well.
For bulk screen orders, we can usually advise on batching, turnaround and the best delivery plan. If your order is urgent, say so from the start. Urgent turnarounds are possible in some cases, but we need the full spec before we can confirm timing.
- Total number of screens or frames
- Sizes split by quantity
- Once-off or repeat order
- Urgent work, if you have a deadline
Let us know where the order needs to go
Please include your suburb, town or delivery area so we can plan the right route. We work from Maitland, Cape Town and supply or deliver to areas such as Bellville, Paarl, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Gqeberha. If you want collection from the workshop or delivery to your print room, say which option suits you best.
If access is tricky, or there are municipal collection rules at your premises, mention that too. It can save time on the day. For businesses that run on tight production schedules, a clear pickup or delivery note helps us keep the job moving without unnecessary back-and-forth.
- Town, suburb or delivery area
- Collection or delivery preference
- Any site access notes
- Best contact person for handover
Attach photos of the frame or current screen
Photos make a big difference, especially for restretch work or inspections. A clear picture of the full frame, the corners and the mesh surface helps us see if there is twisting, old adhesive build-up or damage that is not obvious in writing. If you are replacing an old screen, one or two close-up photos are usually enough to guide the quote.
If you are sending frames from a workshop with a lot of dust, ink residue or cleaning chemical marks, show that too. We can then include frame cleaning or adhesive application in the quote if needed. This is often the quickest way to avoid surprises when the order arrives.
- Front and back photos of the frame
- Corner and edge close-ups
- Any problem areas or wear marks
- Photos of the existing mesh if it is still fitted
Give us the practical details that affect turnaround
Finally, tell us anything that could affect how quickly we can complete the work. If you need pickup and return, if the order must be processed around load-shedding, or if your production run depends on a fixed dispatch date, include that in your message. A clear deadline helps us plan workshop time and logistics properly.
It also helps to mention whether you need screen care advice after the job is done. Some printers want guidance on storage, cleaning and tension checks so the screens hold up in daily use. A few simple notes at the start can save a lot of wasted time later on.
- Required turnaround date
- Load-shedding or timing constraints
- Pickup and return needs
- Any follow-up advice you want included
