Where to collect from in Maitland
Collections are handled from our Maitland base in Cape Town, close to main routes for customers coming from the city, the northern suburbs, the Southern Suburbs and the industrial areas. If you are collecting for a print shop, workshop or small home setup, plan your trip around traffic on Voortrekker Road and nearby industrial streets, especially later in the afternoon.
When you arrive, let the team know your order name and the type of frames you are collecting. That helps us bring the right items out without delay. If you are collecting multiple frames or a bulk order, please send one person with enough space in the vehicle and room to keep the frames flat, not stacked loose in the back.
What to bring with you
To keep collection smooth, bring the details below. If someone else is collecting on your behalf, make sure they have the same information. A clear handover saves time and avoids mix-ups, especially when there are custom sizes or several screens in the same order.
- Your order reference or business name
- The full name used when the order was placed
- Any notes about frame size, mesh count or quantity
- Proof of payment if requested
- A vehicle with enough load space for the frames
If you are not sure what to bring, ask before setting off. It is better to check than arrive and need to make a second trip, which is never ideal when you are on a schedule.
How the collection handover works
On arrival, your collection is checked against the job notes, then the frames are brought out for inspection. We recommend that you look over each frame before leaving, especially if you are collecting freshly stretched screens or a restretch order. Check that the corners are square, the mesh looks even and there is no visible damage from transport. A quick check now can save a return run later.
If you notice anything unusual, say so before loading. The team can explain the work done, point out any care notes, and confirm how the frames should be stored once you get back to your workshop. For many customers, a 5 minute check is enough to give peace of mind and keep production moving.
Parking, loading and safe transport
Maitland can be busy, so allow a little extra time for parking and loading. Bring straps, blankets or cardboard sheets if you are collecting large or delicate frames. Aluminium frames travel best when they are kept flat and supported, not allowed to slide around under other stock or tools. Coastal humidity can also affect how you store screens after collection, so avoid leaving them in a closed vehicle for too long if you still have more stops to make.
- Keep the frames upright only if you can secure them properly
- Do not place heavy rolls of material on top of stretched screens
- Use a clean surface in the bakkie or van
- Take care with freshly cleaned or adhesive treated frames
If you are collecting during load-shedding or on a day with supply interruptions, it is still best to follow your planned collection slot. Our workshop routine is managed around production timing, so a small delay can affect other customers too.
For bulk orders and repeat collections
Customers collecting bulk screen orders, multiple custom sizes or regular workshop runs should try to keep collections to one clear booking at a time. That makes it easier for our team to set aside the right frames and load them in the correct order. If your business works across Cape Town, Bellville or Paarl, a planned collection can save a lot of back and forth.
For larger orders, it helps to send a list ahead of time with quantities and frame sizes. Our workshop team can then prepare the handover and reduce waiting. If you are collecting for Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria or Gqeberha branches or delivery routes, ask us how the order is being packed so you know what to expect on arrival.
If you cannot collect on the day
If something changes and you cannot make your collection, let us know as soon as possible through the enquiry form on our contact page. That gives us time to adjust workshop flow and hold your order safely. We understand that printers work to deadlines, and sometimes a courier delay, machine issue or municipal interruption can shift the day around.
Where possible, we can help with pickup and return arrangements for suitable orders, or suggest a later collection slot. If a frame is already finished and waiting, keeping us updated helps avoid unnecessary handling and keeps the work in good condition. It is a small step, but it makes the whole process easier for everyone.
Need help before you travel
If you are unsure about frame size, loading space or the best time to collect, get in touch through the enquiry form before leaving home or the workshop. The ScreenFrame team in Maitland can guide you on what is ready, what needs a final check, and whether your order is best collected in one trip or split across more than one run.
Our aim is simple: hand over the right screens, in good order, with as little fuss as possible. A quick call through the contact form before you travel can save time on the road and help your day run better.
